building website in-house vs outsourcing – Should You Build Your App In House Or Outsource To An Agency?
The sun beat down from overhead with such intensity I had been breaking out in a sweat when sitting in the shade. I used ton’t mind the heat, I was just happy to be outside. But, it did slow the speed of the progress at the construction site. It had been grinding work between digging, mixing concrete, putting blocks, and bending rebar, most of which I had little to no working knowledge in.
I’ll admit that building houses was not in my job description. A smile crossed my face, not because I felt more refreshed, but because I had been truly content. I recognized a gentle breeze which unexpectedly drifted across the scene and took my own thoughts withit. My mind began to wonder. How can I arrive here?
For several years that I had the dream of living abroad, learning a new language and experiencing a different culture. Are not there something more to life than regular and monotony? Occasionally I would often wonder if a lot of everyone was really waking at the morning motivated by the job they were doing and how their lives were unfolding. I needed a switch. I wanted to become consciously involved with something positive that would provide me with a sense of purpose. Does that also exist, and if so where can I sign up? But, I finally chose and began to see this dream once I traveled to Costa Rica in a whim and found myself volunteering with Habitat for Humanity International. Can one person really transform the whole world? I desired to discover.
Habitat simply started a fresh International Volunteer Program (IVP) for long-term volunteers and I had been the 1st to go through the app. I felt this was a tremendous opportunity since the company was constructed and existed on the support of volunteers. Beginning I had been somewhat on edge, in the time I found my groove over the Habitat frame. It was unbelievable – that I was actually enjoying office job. I participate in the creation of materials such as an volunteer manual, meeting guides, and evaluation forms. I worked with a taskforce for the continuous advancement of the IVP program. I even handled an on site volunteer training plan at El Salvador. The best part about my job was having to work along with other volunteers, people who weren’t because they must function but have there been only because they wished to be.
As far as the volunteers have been concerned, my role was to coordinate home and arrival logistics, then administer orientations, and support them during their stay. There is such a charm between the volunteers I’d go on it a step further and plan weekend trips and after work excursions. We ended up not simply changing the lives of many others, however, shifting the lifestyles of one another. Working with Habitat gave me the confidence to believe I could accomplish any job, but more importantly it gave me a more genuine sense of fulfillment in being able to perform hard at work worth doing.
As often as I could I’d break away from the office and accept volunteers build trips to Habitat construction sights during Costa Rica. It was heart warming to see first hand the culmination of job. Out at the sight we would work alongside the benefiting Habitat family that was always very receptive, helpful, and respectful of the help. The scene was a fantastic amalgamation of cultures, economic backgrounds, and faith. Yet the common bond which tied us together wasn’t that the easy notion of building a home. Only watching everyone else working, laughing, smiling, and discussing created an atmosphere therefore rich with emotion it made me rethink the way I defined wealth. The home was symbolic greater than only a place of dwelling. It represented a unity, a coming together, and an inherent comprehension of equality which we’ll carry with us for the remainder of our own lives. As cliché as it might sound, it was authentic. We’re not only building homes, we were building lives.
Internationally or domestically, conflict settlement or human rights, the surroundings – it’s disheartening to think there are so many ways of getting involved and give back to the global community. But these dilemmas exist to not create despair but activity. It isn’t important where you begin to get started making positive gifts equally so long as you make your choice to actually start somewhere. Ultimately, this is one of the toughest decisions to create. I picked the movement of eliminating poverty housing. Did I eradicate poverty housing? Maybe not really close. Can I succeed? Definitely! The serenity of my experience taught me that I cannot eliminate poverty home, that directed me to this answer I was searching for. Perhaps 1 person can not change the planet, however, the world can surely change for a single person. And it has this domino effect, which should spread throughout the globe we can, collectively, achieve the unimaginable and make a world that reflects the heat of mankind in the place of its indifference.
