house building advance to state government employees – Distinct Pay Tables as per 7th CPC Recommendations for
The sun beat down from overhead with this kind of intensity I had been breaking out in a sweat while sitting in the colour. I used ton’t mind the heat, I was simply glad to be outside. Yet, it did slow the speed of our progress at the construction site. It was grinding work between digging, mixing concrete, putting blocks, and bending rebar, most of that I had little to no working experience in.
I will acknowledge that construction houses was perhaps not in my job description. A grin crossed my head, not because I felt much refreshed, however because I was truly happy. I recognized a gentle breeze which suddenly swept across the landscape and required my own thoughts with it. My mind started to wonder. How can I get here?
For several years I had the dream of living abroad, learning a new language and experiencing another culture. Wasn’t there something more alive than routine and monotony? Sometimes I would often wonder if most people were really waking up in the morning motivated by the job that they were doing and how their lives were unfolding. I needed a switch. I needed to eventually become consciously involved in something positive which could give me a feeling of purpose. Does that also exist, and if yes where can I subscribe? Yet, I finally took the initiative and started to realize this dream when I traveled to Costa Rica to a whim and found myself volunteering with Habitat for Humanity International. Can one person really transform the world? I desired to find out.
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and activity. Habitat just started a new International Volunteer Program (IVP) for long-term volunteers and that I was the very first to go through the application. I believed that this was an enormous opportunity since the organization was constructed and existed on the aid of volunteers. Getting started I was a bit on edge, in the time I found my groove within the Habitat framework. It was unbelievable – I was actually enjoying office work. I participate in the growth of substances such as an volunteer manual, meeting guides, and test forms. I worked with a task force for the continuous advancement of this IVP program. I even handled an on-site volunteer training plan at El Salvador. Yet the best part about my job was really getting to work along with other volunteers, people who weren’t because they must be but have there been only because they wished to become.
As far as the volunteers had been concerned my role was to coordinate housing and arrival logistics, then administer orientations, and support them throughout their stay. There is this kind of charm between the volunteers I’d often go on it a step further and plan weekend trips and after-work excursions. We wound up not simply altering the lives of others, however, shifting the lives of each other. Working with Habitat gave me the confidence to believe that I can accomplish virtually any job, however more importantly it gave me a real sense of fulfillment in to be able to work hard at work worth doing.
As often as I could I’d break out from the office and accept volunteers build trips to Habitat construction sights during Costa Rica. It was heartwarming to see first hand the culmination of work. Out at the sight we would work together with the benefitting Habitat family who was consistently very open-minded, friendly, and respectful of our help. The spectacle was a fantastic amalgamation of cultures, economic backgrounds, and beliefs. Yet the frequent bond which tied us together was that the easy thought of developing a home. Just watching everyone working, laughing, smiling, and sharing generated a feeling therefore rich with emotion that it made me reconsider the way I recognized wealth. The home was symbolic of more than just a place of dwelling. It symbolized a motto, a coming together, along with an inherent understanding of equality which we’ll carry with us for the remainder of our own lives. As cliché as it might sound, it was true. We’re not just building houses, but we were building lives.
Internationally or conflict settlement or human rights, the environment – it’s disheartening to consider there are so many ways of getting involved and give back to the international community. But these issues exist not to create despair but activity. It isn’t important where you begin to begin making positive gifts equally for as long when you make your choice to actually start somewhere. Eventually, this really is one of the toughest decisions to create. Did I eradicate poverty housing? Maybe not even close. Did I succeed? Absolutely! The calmness of my experience taught me that I alone can’t do away with poverty housing, that directed me into the answer I was searching for. Perhaps 1 man can’t change the entire world, but the planet can surely change for a single person. And it has this domino effect, that should disperse across the globe we can, together, achieve the unthinkable and create a world that reflects the warmth of humanity in the place of its own indifference.
